Much to everyone's expectations, Duvvada Jagannadham opened to fantastic response from Allu Arjun fans and reportedly raked in Rs 33 crore on its first day. Despite opening to mixed reviews, Duvvada Jagannadham is running to packed houses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Now, reports suggest that DJ has grossed Rs 100 crore in its first week.
At the success meet, producer Dil Raju confirmed that the film has collected Rs 78 crore in 4 days. Released in over 1300 screens across the world, DJ earned Rs 88 crore on Thursday.
After Race Gurram and Sarrainodu, Duvvada Jagannadham marks Allu Arjun's third film to enter the Rs 100-crore club.
Duvvada Jagannadham tells the story of an undercover cop, DJ (Allu Arjun), who masquerades as an innocent Brahmin, Duvvada Jagannadham. While Allu Arjun was mostly praised for his role, DJ was criticised for its wafer-thin story. Apart from Allu Arjun's electrifying screen presence, his crackling romance with co-star Pooja Hegde is one of the major highlights of DJ, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is teaming up with Vakkantham Vamsi for Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, where he is said to play a soldier.
