Allu Arjun's "Sarainodu" (Sarrainodu) has continued its dream run at the worldwide box office in the third week and it has surpassed the coveted Rs. 100 crore gross mark in 17 days.
Released in 1,600 screens on April 22, "Sarainodu" collected approximately Rs. 17 crore at the global box office on the first day and became the biggest opener for Allu Arjun. The film went on strength to strength on the following days and grossed Rs. 72 crore at the worldwide box office in the first week. It turned the highest grosser in the opening week, beating the record of "Nannaku Prematho."
Besides losing out on a chunk of its screen count, the Boyapati Srinu-directed action drama film clashed with new releases in its second week, but it managed to drive the audience crazy towards the theatres. In its second week, "Sarainodu" collected approximately Rs. 21 crore at the worldwide box office, taking its 14-day-global gross total to Rs. 91 crore.
Despite clashing with "24" and "Supreme," the Allu Arjun and Rakul Preet Singh starrer continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters around the world. "Sarainodu" has collected Rs. 8 crore at the worldwide box office in its third weekend and its 17-day global gross total stands at Rs. 101 crore.
"Sarainodu" has become the second film to gross Rs. 100 crore mark for Allu Arjun, after "Race Gurram" It has become the 8th movie in the history of Telugu cinema to achieve this feat. Allu Arjun tweeted, "I thank everybody esply my fans for making #Sarrainodu the biggest hit of my career. Thank you all for the heartfelt compliments."
"Sarainodu," which is produced by Allu Aravind, has been made with a whopping budget of Rs. 65 crore and its global theatrical rights were sold for Rs. 53.50 crore.
