Yevadu Telugu Movie Review

Ratings:3/5 Review By: Karthik Pasupulate  Site:Times Of India (TOI)
For all the hype surrounding Ram Charan and Allu Arjun acting together in the movie there isn't a single episode in which the two share the screen together. Neither does it offer the spectacle of the duo dancing together in a dream sequence. What we get is the statutory truckloads of action and high decibel background score. Ram Charan waltzes through the entire film with one and a half expressions. Note: It's loaded with high decibel screaming and sounds of human bodies being bashed to pulp, so those with sensitive eardrums might want to carry protection.

Movie starts off in an interesting mode. First half is alright. Second half has pretty good emotional elements . The plus points of film are Ram Charan’s performance, commercial screenplay that has an inherent factor that arouses curiosity and director’s ability to handle mass and family emotions. On the flip side, the first half of the film has no conflict point as hero continues to kill the targets with zero opposition and there is lot of violence in the movie. On a whole, Yevadu is a film that has all ingredients to work at Box Office this Sankranthi!.

He took an element from 'Journey', a line from 'Vikramarkudu', an emotion from 'Chatrapathi' and an idea from Hollywood flick 'Face Off'. He should be appreciated for making the dish palatable at least for a set of audience. Yes, the film goes well with the masala fiction lovers. The festival season should help the film but definitely it is not something on par with Ram Charan's last Sankranthi film 'Nayak'. But certainly far better than his latest dud 'Toofan'. And releasing after '1-Nenokkadine' is another advantage that it can lift.

First half of the film is okay, not many dragging episodes and second half picks the pace to adds in some mass - powerful scenes. Yevadu has obviously been made to cater to its target audience, those who don't care about logic and are looking for nothing less than pakka entertainment. If your idea of a movie goes along those lines, watch it!

After an interesting first fifteen minutes, the film becomes highly predictable. When compared to the second half, the first half is slightly on the slower side. All the scenes and events showcased remind us of many Telugu films. The film only becomes good vs evil and turns monotonous. After an tit for tat revenge drama, climax becomes cliched and routine. One the whole, Yevadu is all about Ram Charan’s electrifying performance. Though this film has many routine scenes, you can still give it a shot this festive season.

For a plot that would have looked stale in any other director's hands, Vamsi has treated the latter part with dexterity. Where the film comes a cropper is in the first half, a truly terrible experience at that. On the face of it, 'Yevadu' is run-of-the-mill with no much novelty. What is the saving grace is the second half, where there are no unwelcome elements like forced comedy track or bad songs. Verdict: A boring first half followed by a gripping second half.

Yes, Yevadu team made the same thing. They gave a commercial treatment to a Hollywood story line. Convincing the audience with the mass elements, the movie filled all the needed features of a commercial cinema to be a hit at box. It is absolutely not a classic, neither a mind blowing movie nor something very unique. It is just a commercial movie. Watch it and enjoy.
