Puri Jagannadh Makes Iddarammayilatho Sequel Without Bunny

Puri Jagannadh is making Iddarammayilatho sequel without Allu Arjun

Buzz is that Puri Jagannadh's Heart Attack starts where the Allu Arjun flick ended

Puri Jagannadh's movie with lesser- known stars (Nithin & Adah Sharma) titled as Heart Attack is apparently a sequel to his previous movie Iddarammayilatho, which featured Allu Arjun. At least that's what the buzz in Tollywood is.

Leading Telugu film distributors, who watched the first cut of the movie, indicate that the story of Heart Attack takes off from where Iddarammayilatho ends. Billed as one of the stylish movies of 2013 pre-release, Iddarammayilatho failed to live up to the expectations. Would Puri have gone for a sequel had it clicked at the box office? That's the emerging question now.

"We do not know if Puri had a deal with the producers or Bunny (Allu Arjun) to make a sequel to Iddarammayilatho. But that is history now. The dialogue, the plot, the narrative of the movie and the songs, all remind of Iddarammyilatho. But that does not make any difference to us. It is to be seen how the audience will respond to the movie," a distributor said.

FALL-OUT WITH BIGGIES
It is well known that Puri, who is out of favour with leading actors and producers owing to a string of flops, is maintaining a low profile hoping to bounce back through Heart Attack.

In 2012, his movie with Mahesh Babu, Businessman, did well at the box office. However, his subsequent movie Devudu Chesina Manushulu, which featured Ravi Teja and Illeana D'Cruz, tanked. Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (with Pawan Kalyan and Tamannaah as the lead actors) too was a disaster. This led to animosity between the actor and the director with reports emerging that Pawan and Puri were no more on talking terms. Pawan, in particular was upset because the movie released with great expectations after the stupendous success of Gabbar Singh and apparently 'damaged' the actor's market. To make matters worse, Iddarammayilatho too did not perform that well and Tollywood producers' fraternity came to the conclusion that the "Puri effect" was on the wane.

TO PROVE THEM WRONG
Undeterred, Puri announced a project featuring lesser known stars to prove Tollywood wrong. Incidentally, he is producing the movie under his home banner Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies. "Puri does not need the endorsement of top stars or producers. He is out to prove that he is still a top story-teller and is risking his own money," a source close to the director said.
