When it comes to sycophancy, Tollywood always occupies a place of pride and the recent 'A to Z look' launch of the movie Rey was no exception. YVS Chowdary managed to rope in Allu Arjun as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Chowdary said, 'This film has been two and a half years in the making. The script is a very tough one and I have handled the screenplay, production and direction responsibilities.
Our entire team knows this. Having today's event attended by a celebrity like Allu Arjun would definitely add mileage to the movie and I thank him for having graced the event.'
But the most interesting comment of the evening came from Chowdary who said that, had he made his debut film Devdas with Allu Arjun in the lead role, it would have emerged an even bigger hit.
While it is understandable that directors and producers do need to suck up to the celebrities who are present on the occasion, the statement by Chowdary is regarded to be highly unfair to Ram Pothineni, the hero of Devdas.
Complimenting the entire team of Rey, Allu Arjun said, 'When I first heard that Sai Dharam Tej was keen on entering films, I was not so sure. But looking at his hard work and dedication, I then talked to producer Dil Raju about it who said that he would launch Sai and would look for a good script.
In the meantime, YVS Chowdary approached Sai with a very good script and that's how Rey happened.' Leading lady of the film, Shraddha Das expressed optimism that the movie would be received well by the masses and thanked director/ producer of Rey, YVS Chowdary for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the project.
