The scorching heat didn't prove deterrent for hundreds fans of Telugu actor, Allu Arjun, or 'Mallu Arjun' as he is fondly called in the state, who gathered at Savitha Theatre on Thursday, waiting patiently for more than an hour to see their hero. He was here to promote his latest film 'Gaja Pokkiri'.
The actor, clad in blue jeans and a Brazil football team jersey, arrived in a BMW to the loud cheers of his fans. Though fans association members, wearing 'I'm Allu Fan' T-shirts, created barricades, people jostled to have a close look at the actor and take his pictures. It is the first visit of the actor to the city and second to the state.
Addressing the media later, the actor said his fan base in Kerala has shot up. Expressing his interest in acting in a Malayalam movie, the actor said he is waiting for that opportunity and is keenly watching Malayalam films.
