Race Gurram is an action entertainer, directed by Surender Reddy. Stylish Star Allu Arjun is playing the title role. Shruti Haasan is paired up with him. It deals with a mind game between two brothers with a twist in the end. Shaam has played Allu Arjun’s brother in this flick. Race Gurram is all set to hit the screens on April 11.

9 years, 5 films, 2 hits and 3 flops – this is the history of director Surender Reddy. In spite of being famous for his stylish taking, Surender Reddy is not being considered as one among the top directors because of his complicated narrative style. Audience step out of theaters with a sort of dissatisfaction after watching his films. Even stars like NTR and Mahesh Babu feel that Surender Reddy can narrate a story well but he is not good at execution. Surender Reddy has to erase this belief with Race Gurram to establish himself as one of the prominent directors of Tollywood.

The result of Race Gurram may not effect the career of a star hero like Allu Arjun. But he is definitely lagging behind his competitors Prabhas and Ram Charan; and he badly needs a hit to be in the competition. Julayi was Allu Arjun’s last hit film which was released two years ago. But the actor is very much sure that Race Gurram will bring him back onto success track. He says “Surender Reddy has designed my character in such a way that I can utilize my strengths to the core. Race Gurram has completely satisfied me after Arya-2 in terms of dances.” He is hoping his new born son will bring luck to him. By the way, his is playing Lucky in the film. As Allu Arjun has a great following in Kerala, makers are releasing Malayalam version of Race Gurram as ‘Lucky – The Racer’ on the same day.

Though Shruti Haasan was considered ‘iron leg’, she has been a lucky charm for Mega heroes. Pawan Kalyan has got a blockbuster after a decade in the form of Gabbar Singh. After the disaster of Thoofan, Ram Charan ruled the box-office with Yevadu during Sankranthi. Shruti Haasan played heroine in both the films. So Mega fans are expecting the sentiment to be repeated. Surender Reddy has tried to impress all sections of audience with Race Gurram. While the first half is going to be racy action drama, second half will provide comic relief with a bit of family emotion. Brahmanandam’s role will be a highlight in the second half.

Music of Race Gurram, composed by Thaman, became an instant hit. All the 6 songs are immensely liked by youth. It is going to be a visual treat to watch those songs on screen with Bunny’s dance movements. Surender Reddy has roped in prominent technicians for Race Gurram. Cinematography is handled by ace cameraman Manoj Paramahamsa. Goutham Raju is the editor. Race Gurram is equipped with latest three-layer Auro sound technology.
