Celebrating the Electrifying Bunny

Allu Arjun's die-hard fans are celebrating the hero's completion of 14 glorious years in Tollywood.  It was on March 28, 2003 that K Raghavendra Rao's 'Gangotri' hit the screens amid below-ordinary expectations.  The youngster played an unfashionable, knicker-wearing lover boy who transforms into a gutsy guy when the heroine's father shows him his place.  Although Arjun didn't exactly win (m)any hearts, the film did.
However, when Sukumar cast him as a stylish orphan in the new-age rom-com titled 'Arya', people just couldn't believe that the posters featured the same unfashionable boy they saw in 'Gangotri'.  The film became a huge summer hit.  The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, Bunny, as he is fondly called, has grown to terrific heights.  His films shake BO records.  His dances electrify every single theatre where his movies play.
His immense popularity on social media owes itself to his rising popularity in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
A cut above the rest, he is immensely admired by female audiences, something not many seem to have noticed.  They find in him a dashing hero whose comic timing is rib-tickling and whose dances offer unalloyed entertainment.
Just one argument is enough to put to rest all criticisms about Bunny's super-stardom owing to the legacy created by Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan: Bunny is more popular than any Telugu hero in the three non-Telugu States where his family background doesn't count.  That says it all.
Just for his mesmerising dance moves, his songs are viewed on YouTube countless number of times.  'Cinema Choopistha Mama' at 23 million views, 'Super Machi' at 15 million views, 'Topu Lechipoddi' at 11 million views, and 'Blockbuster' at 10 million views make him the only Tollywood hero with four such hugely-popular songs to his credit.
As 'Duvvada Jagannadham' is being made, his fans are ready to see him reach even greater heights.
Of course, his Tamil debut, which could happen sooner than later, will be another major career move to watch out for.
