Bruce Lee The Fighter Fails to Beat S/o Satyamurthy Weekend Record

"Bruce Lee - The Fighter" has done decent collection at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend, but it has failed to beat the business records of Allu Arjun's "S/o Satyamurthy" (SOS).
"Bruce Lee - The Fighter" was released in around 2,000 cinema halls across the globe on 16 October. The movie debuted with wonderful response at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office. With its superb collection, the film smashed the opening day records of "Rudhramadevi" and "S/o Satyamurthy" and became the third biggest opener in 2015 after "Baahubali" and "Srimanthudu".
However, Except Karnataka, the movie had a lukewarm response in other parts of India and international market. Especially, its performance was very poor at the US box office, where it was the third biggest Telugu release with a screen count of 220 after "Baahubali - the Beginning" and "Srimanthudu".
On Saturday, "Bruce Lee - The Fighter" witnessed a steep decline with its collection going down by 60+% at the AP/T box office. Its collection remained below the expected mark in these areas on Sunday too. The movie could not show improvement in other parts of the globe over the weekend.
The movie has collected approximately Rs 39.10 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first weekend, reports Andhra Box Office. It has reportedly fetched Rs 27.30 crore to its distributors, who have shelled out a hefty Rs 56 crore on its theatrical rights.
The Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer has smashed the opening weekend collection records of "Rudhramadevi" and "S/o Satyamurthy" at the AP/T box office. Its business is pretty good in Karnataka, where it has beaten the record of "Rudhramadevi". But the movie has failed to the record of "S/o Satyamurthy" in other parts of the globe.
