Pawan Kalyan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh, released on Ugadi amidst humongous expectations and unprecedented hype. The film had a record number of premiere shows in the twin Telugu states and even in the US and collected record opening day collections.
However, Sardaar bit the dust miserably on day two itself and ended up as a huge disaster. Trade circles described the unprecedented pre-release hype as the main culprit behind Sardaar's disastrous fate. Now, Stylish Star Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu is releasing within a day.
Surprisingly, the buzz surrounding the film is many times lesser compared to Sardaar. While the overseas distributors have planned a whopping 165+ premiere shows, there are hardly any premieres or benefit shows for Sarrainodu in the two Telugu states.
In a way, this low hype before Sarrainodu's release can be seen as a good strategy by the makers as Sarrainodu won't meet Sardaar's fate if it gets average talk on its opening day. Also, all of recent Bunny films released with low hype and ended up as huge money spinners.
Looks like the Sarrainodu team is following this sentiment. Or is it a precautionary measure seeing Sardaar's result? All in all, it's advantage Sarrainodu on April 22nd.
