Lakshmi Manchu is visibly upset with the way things have turned
out for Tollywood when it comes to the 100 Years of Indian Cinema. It
is known that organizers have approached her to co-ordinate with the
actors for live performance at the event. She along with her brother
Vishnu who is also the vice-president of Movie Artistes Association
(MAA) came in touch with a lot of stars for making the show a big
success.
However, All of their plans got ruined with the decision of MAA not to perform at the century celebrations in the last moment citing the ongoing agitations in the state as the reason. "We got in touch with Charan, Bunny, Anushka, Tamanna and few other stars as well. All of them agreed to perform during the two-hour slot allotted to each of the Industries. If not for the U-turn of TFI, Every Telugu actor would have been on the stage," comments Lakshmi who is very upset over the cancellation.
Notably, Mohan Babu objected TFI participation in the celebrations due to T-issue and proposed the postponement of the event in his letter to AP Film Chamber. To everyone's surprise, Lakshmi declares it was her father who forced her to attend the event as team players because he didn't want Telugu cinema to be let down.
