Allu Arjun's latest Telugu movie Julayi, which was released in the midweek in America, has received superb opening at the Box Office. Its two days collections are better than that of Daruvu, Adhinayakudu and Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara, but the romantic-action thriller has failed to beat the collection record of blockbuster film Eega.
SS Rajamouli's Eega, which was released on Thursday, July 5, has been highest grosser Telugu movie at the USA Box Office. Sudeep-Samantha starrer film had received an earth-shattering response in the country. It had collected Rs 1.10 crore ($198,817) in two days (Thursday and Friday). So far, the movie has gone beyond Rs 6 crores at the collection centres in the country.
Whereas, Julayi, which released in the country on Wednesday, August 8, has also done remarkable business at the collection centres of USA. Indian trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports that the Telugu film has fetched excellent figures in the USA market. According to his records, the film has collected Rs 78.97 lakhs ($142,857) from its screening on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, due to American Independence, Eega had four days extended weekend. Whereas, Julayi has five-day extended weekend in the country. Trade analyst feel that Julayi is sure to break record of Eega, which had collected Rs 3 crores in the first weekend. Now, it should be seen whether it will really beat the record.
