After playing a brooding warrior in Badrinath, Gen X star Allu Arjun carries the light-hearted entertainer on his heavy shoulders with an energetic and lively performance as a good-for-nothing youngster who dreams to become rich overnight but doesn’t do anything drastic to achieve it except for indulging in small-time betting. Moreover, Allu Arjun earns the wrath of baddies since he helped cops to scuttle robbers plans to flee with the heist, so where is the question of Bunny taking shorter to route fortune.
Apparently, the contrived plot goes for a toss but the saving grace is Allu Arjun’s intricate dancing and pranks along with his onscreen chemistry with pretty Ileana and some hilarious comedy.
Director Trivikram Srinivas is known for his flair for comedy and proves it once again by evoking fun through actors Rajendraprasad, M.S. Narayana, and Brahmanandam but leaves few gaping holes in the screenplay, like unnecessarily stretching the mind-war between Allu Arjun and Sonu Sood bit too far and making Allu Arjun to do almost the job of a cop, without a uniform is tad hard to digest and transporting `1,500 crores cash from a dump yard to a godown by two people, is just unbelievable.
Nevertheless, the cerebral climax breaks the monotony of Telugu formulaic climaxes since it relies purely on the mind-play and smarter one triumphs by decoding even tough clues (like first light in the Vizag city-light house). Even though, Ileana looks ravishing and has few romantic moments with handsome co-star but nothing much to crow about. Sonu Sood just fits the bill.
Politician Kota Srinivas Rao joins hands with baddy Sonu Sood to loot a bank in Vizag and their plans go awry since an youngster Allu Arjun tips cops about it by mere intelligent guessing. When police chases the goons, Sonu flees, leaving behind the heist and Allu Arjun is packed off to Hyderabad to live safely. He happens to stay with cop Rajendraprasad’s family and falls in love with pretty girl Ileana and transforms her from a plain-jane to a gorgeous girl but she is shocked to know that he has faked all those love moments, to win her love.
Meanwhile, Sonu traces down Allu Arjun and their mind-game begins once again.
