Crowds chanting "Mallu Arjun" — as Allu Arjun's Malayali fans affectionately address him — made a beeline to a local mall in Thrissur (Kerala) on Saturday, to catch a glimpse of the stylish star. The actor seemed overwhelmed by thunderous welcome. "I feel very proud, because it's not very easy to be liked in another land. I'm not a Malayali, yet you have all showered incredible love on me. It's very nice of you and I feel honored. It reminds me that I'm not just a Telugu guy, but an Indian," said the actor.
Admittedly, the actor had visited the same place to shoot for his film Arya, back in 2004. "Nobody knew me then. I used to walk around the roads like a layman," recalled the actor, who promised to act in a Malayalam film soon.
"Mohan Lal is one of my favourite actors as is Mammooty, and I follow a lot of young actors like Prithvi Raj, Fahadh Faasil, and Salmaan Dulquer. A lot of young filmmakers are changing the face of Malayalam cinema...I'd like to tell them to please approach me. I'd like to act in a Malayalam film sometime for my fans," he added, even as the crowds cheered on
