Of late, detractors are reaching to any extent to spit venom. Coming to film critics, they are not even leaving a hit movie like Race Gurram to promote their agenda. Just to fill up columns, it seems like they want to term this biggest hit of the year as a 'fluke' hit in the name of criticism. Will anyone really dare to say that this Surender Reddy directorial is a hit by stroke of luck?
Race Gurram is one movie where the word 'screenplay' got honoured to a maximum if we talk about recent Telugu movies. Other than Manam and Karthikeya, no other movie would match such a screenplay brilliance with this Allu Arjun, Shruti Haasan starrer. Right from conflict between brothers to heroine's silent therapy sequence, villain's introduction to Kill Bill Pandey sequence, every portion looks as novel as it is.
Also songs deserve a special mention, as the creative workflow that went behind conceiving pieces like Cinema Choopista Maava and Down Down Duppa is terrific. Both songs have different creative themes, different style dancing, folk and dub-step dances and a different visual altogether. A right mix of talent and creativity from Surender Reddy, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa and composer Thaman helped delivering a thunderous output.
When these so-called critics are in two minds during release of the flick, it was audiences who made it a hit as they got thrilled by the overall mastery of the flick. Still, you call Race Gurram a fluke it?
