The emerging actress will share screen space with the Telugu actor for the second time

After acting in 15 movies, some of them being blockbusters, in the last one decade, Tollywood's superstar Allu Arjun is set to break a long-held tradition. Normally, heroines are not repeated in Arjun's movies. However, for the first time in his career, a heroine is being paired with him for the second time.

The 'lucky girl' is emerging actress Catherine Tresa. The two were seen together in the 2013 film Iddarammayilatho, directed by Puri Jagannadh. It is not that the pairing of Arjun and Catherine is deliberate, rather it was a coincidence. The two actors will be seen in Rudhramadevi, a historical movie being directed by Gunasekhar.

Though Anushka Shetty plays the role of the female protagonist in the movie, Allu Arjun has an important role. (He will be seen in the role of a warrior prince). Originally, Mahesh Babu was supposed to play this role and he could not take it up. It was then Allu Arjun walked into the picture.

"However, by then, the director had completed shooting of the character Annambika (Catherine Tresa). Arjun has completed shooting for his solo portion and scenes involving Catherine will be shot later this month," a source from the unit said.

Though Arjun had apprehensions about acting with Catherine for the second time, the director reportedly convinced him to take it up because they were not the lead actors of the movie. Casting managers, however, are wondering about Catherine's luck. "Bunny (Arjun) has acted opposite some of the top heroines of the South, but no one had the luck of acting a second time with him. Catherine has been extremely lucky," they said.

Rudhramadevi, a 3D movie, has an ensemble star cast with the release scheduled in October.
