Total 94 straight Telugu films were released in the last six months this year. The first hit this year came with Ram Charans Yevadu which was released during Sankranthi. Although big starrers minted good money, the success rate was not that bright. Small films hardly made money.
Among the stars who tasted the success in the first half of 2014 are – Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Nithin, Naga Chaitanya. Meanwhile, all dubbed movies including superstar Rajnikanth's Vikramasimha, Vishal's Indrudu andBhadram failed to set the cash registers ringing. Of the 49 dubbed movies that hit the screens, none made an impact.

1. Race Gurram – This is the biggest hit so far.
2. Yevadu – Ram Charan scored another hit.
3. Legend – Balakrishna's career best hit.
4. Manam – This film starring all three stars of Akkineni family turned out to be one of the biggest hit this year and it is career best hit both in Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya's career.
Average movies
1. Heart Attack – Nithin who scored two hits earlier got just an average grosser this year.
2. Bheemavaram Bullodu – This Sunil starrer worked in B & C centres.
Films that got appreciation
1. Minugurulu – A film about blind children living in horrible hostel conditions won good praise from critics.
2. Pratindhi – This Nara Rohith starrer dealt topical theme and got good ratings.
3. Kamalatho Naa Prayanam – A period movie that won good name for heroine Archana
4. Oohalu Gusagusalade – A romcom directed by Avasarala Srinivasa Rao not only appeased the metro audiences but also critics.
