Race Gurram Box Office Collections Racing Ahead to Touch Rs.50 Crore Soon

Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s ‘Race Gurram’ has grossed box office collection of Rs. 40 crore, reaching the Bollywood club of block busters and leaving behind many telugu films.

With a total collection of Rs. 43.45 crore in 2 weeks, the film may break the records of Ram Charan Teja’s “Rachcha” film that grossed Rs. 45 crore in its third week. It is even set to overtake “Yevadu” collections at the current rate of box office collections, according to Andhraboxoffice.com.

The film, a total family entertainer, has become the best in Allu Arjun’s career, surpassing his last film “Julai”. Once it crosses Rs.50-crore club, the film will give Allu Arjun new status and image in Telugu film industry.

Meanwhile, today’s release Praveen Sataru-directed “Chandamama Kathalu” hit the screens. “The film was originally supposed to come out in March, but since we couldn’t get a good number of theatres, we had to postpone the release. The film has been locked for April 25 and it will release,” Chanakya Bhooneti, the film’s producer, told IANS.

Featuring Lakshmi Manchu, Aamani, Naresh, Krishnudu and Chaitanya Krishna, the film’s title is based on the children’s book “Chandamama”, which is the favourite of may generations in the past half a century.

“I grew up listening to Chandamama Kathalu. My grandmother used to read them to me and I fondly remember them for the collection of stories in them. I decided to name my film after the book because my story is about the day-to-day experiences of multiple characters,” director Praveen told IANS.

“There are multiple small stories in the larger story of my film. I thought this title would perfectly fit the bill, and therefore, I named it after the book”.

The release of five new films today may affect the screen count for “Race Gurram” and its box office collections this week but the film is on its way to cross Rs.50-crore target soon and reach the elite club of maximum box office hit among the Telugu films.

Otherwise, there will be five more releases early next month after which Rajinikanth’s “Vikramasimha” will hit the maximum number of screens on May 9.

Race Gurram Maintains Momentum

A few small films released last week and they were declared as utter flop films. One such film was Charmme-starrer Pratighatana which had to be removed from theatres three days after its release. The flop streak of Allari Naresh continues in this year too. Laddu Babu in Naresh and Ravi Babu combination failed to have the audience in splits. Instead, it had a rather disappointing story and equally bad screenplay. Race Gurram is continuing its successful run. Since it is making steady collections during week days, film analysts feel that it will have a long innings. The film has already breached the Rs 40 crore mark and is still doing pretty decent business. The third week collections will decide if the film will cross the Rs 50 crore mark and enter the list of top five films for the year 2014.

Race Gurram 2 Weeks World Wide Business

After looking at its 2 week performance, we can safely say now that Race Gurram is a Super Hit!. By collecting 43.45Cr Share in 2 weeks worldwide it is now 11th Highest Ever Earner for Tollywood. The film will break into All Time Top 10 this 3rd weekend by overtaking Racha`s 45Cr. At this rate, Race Gurram is highly likely to become the biggest earner of the year so far overtaking Yevadu, probably in 3weeks.

Race Gurram to Beat Charan's Yevadu, will Soon Enter 100 Crore Club

Buzz has it that Allu Arjun’s 'Race Gurram' has supposedly collected Rs 40 crore at the worldwide market box-office. It is on the verge of entering the 100 crore club soon. The action-family entertainer is still continuing to perform well in the overseas market even in the second week after its release.

Race Gurram collects Rs 80 lakhs in the 11th day

Till date Race Gurram has earned approximately Rs 39.50 crore in 10 days and is estimated to have surpassed around 80 lakhs in its 11th day box-office collection.

Apart from proving to be the highest grossing movie after its release, Race Gurram has also turned out to be biggest hit in Allu Arjun’s career .

The film has stirred the movie going audiences with its remarkable box-office numbers and has apparently outshined the box office collection of Allu Arjun’s 2012 Telugu action comedy film 'Julayi'.

Race Gurram collects Rs 7.42 crore in USA

'Race Gurram' has raked in 7.42 crore after it sailed past the second weekend in the United States box-office.

Sharing about the impressive box office number, Trade Analyst tweeted,"Telugu film #RaceGurram is extraordinary in USA. Total after Wknd 2: $ 1,227,881 [Rs 7.42 crores]. OUTSTANDING! Source: Rentrak.”

The film which had an exceptional debut in the respective first day after its big release has generated Rs 29 crore in AP/Nizam areas. On the other hand the film’s worldwide collection in ten days stand around Rs 39 crore .

Now it will be seen whether this film would keep the cash registers ringing this weekend as some of the new releases will be hitting screens this Friday. There would be around five new films that are lined up to release on the 25th, while another 5 would land in screens in May.

It would be interesting to see whether Allu Arjun’s 'Race Gurram' manages to beat Ram Charan’s last stunner "Yevadu’ in the coming weeks.

'Yevadu' had been the biggest hit this year and the film also scotched the top spot at the world box office collections.
