Bunny’s Julayi Joins 40 cr Club
Bunny Waiting for a Malayalam Offer
Allu Arjun is undoubtedly a superstar in Mollywood, if you consider the kind of reception his movies get in Kerala. With smash hits like ‘Arya’, ‘Bunny’, ‘Happy’ packed with action, dance and music sequences, he seems to have striked the right chord among Malayalis, the evidence being the huge fanbase he has amassed in Kerala.
Looking dapper in a blue shirt and denim jeans, the actor, also referred as ‘Mallu’ Arjun, began the interaction with the media expressing his strong desire to act in a Malayalam film.
“Malayalis have always loved and welcomed me a lot. The craze for my movies in Kerala is so unique. The industry here have also attracted me by the kind of movies produced here. Over the past few years, my bond with the industry has increased a lot. I would very much like to step into Mollywood as an ode to the audience who have showered me with love. I want to carefully plan my Malayalam debut and so have been meeting more directors and learning the nuances of the language,” reveals Allu, whose latest film is running successfully in the theatres here.
Observing the reason for the success of his movies in Kerala, Allu says, “My movies, with glitz and glamour are pakka entertainers made on a large canvas. Maybe the dearth of that entertainment element in Malayalam movies could be the reason why people love my films. He adds with a smile,”I am keeping a close tab on the movies released here. I have watched ‘Usthad Hotel’, that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am a huge admirer of Mohanlal and watched his movie, ‘Arabiyum Ottakavum P Madhavan Nairum’”.
Allu whose name is synonymous with high voltage masala entertainers does not mince words when he says he will only act in that genre. He says quite matter-of-factually, “I know what I am capable of. My movies are appealing to the masses. I will never act in an offbeat movie. I would love to watch such movies, but acting in them is another thing.”
The Tollywood actor who stepped into filmdom in 2003 with ‘Gangothri’ has acted in 10 movies in the past nine years. Turning back and observing his career, he fondly remembers his uncle Chiranjeevi whom he calls his ‘Godfather’. “He has introduced me to films and I am heavily indebted to him for that.”
The actor who has grooved to quite a number of popular songs, and whose passion for dancing is well-known says, “I thoroughly enjoy doing dance and song sequences. I think South Indian industry is unique for its colourful cinema and I am proud of being a representative of such movies.”
The young actor signed off by requesting the wholehearted support of the Kerala audience for his future movies.

Bunny Does It Again
The upbeat mood was palpable. The star whom they had seen only on silver screen all this while was right amidst them and it was excitement galore.
If some revelled in just gaping at him, others tried to get beyond the human chain that had formed minutes after the star made a grand entry.
The message was clear. Allu Arjun has touched Mallu hearts once again with Gaja Pokkiri. The Telugu star who was here to promote the dubbed version of his latest hit, Julayi, was accorded a warm welcome by his fans; something that could turn a Mollywood actor green with envy.
“I was bowled over. Seeing fans wearing crazy tee shirts with my name written on them. This is something I don’t see even back in Hyderabad,” gushes Allu, the only T-town actor so far to enjoy a huge fan following in Malayalam.
Thrilled at the way the dubbed version of his eleventh movie, Julayi, is gaining acceptance, he takes us through Gaja Pokkiri, which sees the actor even donning a comic role for the first time in his career.
“I personally liked the philosophy behind Julayi. The youngsters of current generation are after quick money.”
Our parents’ generation was all about hard work and financial discipline,” says Allu. “Julayi addresses the most common conflict we see between fathers and sons regarding how money should be made,” adds the man who swears by pukka commercial South Indian movies with the right dose of masala action, comedy and dance.
He calls them the spice of South Indian films and takes the example of movies like Ghajini and Wanted that are even remade in Bollywood.
“Remakes have become the order of the day and exploring another market is the future of cinema,” believes Allu.
Though huge sets, dependence on glamour quotient and big canvases have not still entered Malayalam, Allu who is even known as Bunny after a movie of his, is happy that his Malayali fans can relate to his movies.
“I think they see a welcoming contrast in my movies,” says the man who started his career as a child artiste 11 years ago.
Today, Allu is one of the highly-paid actors in the Telugu industry with ten of his 11 movies dubbed into Malayalam — something that has not only earned him a firm foothold in Malayali hearts, but also the title Mallu Arjun.
He even goes on to compliment the different aspects of dubbing in Malayalam that has packed each of his movies with a punch.
“Compared to other films, the quality of dubbing, mixing and translation is very accurate in Malayalam.” This he owes to director Khader Hassan who has worked on most of his movies dubbed in Malayalam.
This said, it makes us curious to know how much a Malayali he is and he doesn’t bat an eye lid to say, “I’ve bonded with Kerala through my travels. I’ve visited almost all the places in Kerala, maybe more than any Keralite would have done.”
Though what he cant come to terms with is the complicated language, he says, “For the past two years, I am trying to overcome it by watching many a Malayalam movie.
The last with which I fell in love was Usthad Hotel.” He even showers praise at Dulquar for his class act.
This eventually brings in the query, when will he be doing a Malayalam film? Someone even goes a step ahead and asks, what if he was offered an Adoor Gopalakrishnan movie?
The answer doesn’t take too long, and it’s a firm No, much to our amusement. “I like watching them, but I don’t think I am capable of doing such roles,” signs off the handsome hero of Telugu industry.
Allu will next be seen in the Telugu flick Idaramayyilla Tho that will be directed by acclaimed director Puri Jaganath.
Bunny's 'First Gear' Condition!
Devudu Chesina Manushulu has shattered every Puri Jagan fan and believer. This film has raised many doubts over Puri Jagan's creative abilities. People started to think that Puri ran out of gas and has reached saturation point. However, Puri didn't lose belief in himself and is looking forward to bounce back with his next films.
Puri's Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is already on sets and his next is confirmed with Allu Arjun. This film titled Iddarammayilatho… has been fixed prior to the release of DCM. With that film facing a disastrous result, Allu Arjun and Aravind thought of shelving the film. But on the assurance of Puri Jagan, they are going ahead with it.
Iddarammayilatho was planned as a quickie. Puri wanted to finish it off in a flash. But Allus have put a condition that he should work sometime on the script and shoot the film in first gear. Allu Arjun is not in a hurry at all. He doesn't want to throw away the momentum that Julayi has given him at a crucial juncture. Puri understood the hero's intentions and promised to pay attention to every detail. But before that he should concentrate more on CGR. He can't take chances for this film as Pawan Kalyan too is in the similar situation.

Bunny Magic Enchants
Allu Arjun finds it a rather unique feeling to have a crazy fan following in Kerala. “Very few Telugu heroes enjoy this rare honour. I am proud of it,” says the ‘youth icon’, who is much loved for his wacko moves and ‘style’ by the Malayali audience.
Julayi, which collected over Rs. 6 crore in Andhra Pradesh on the first day of its release, was pitched rightly as a blockbuster, says Arjun. “It had all the elements of a super hit. The director, Trivikram Srinivas, himself has a huge following. And Devi Prasad, who has done the music, has come out with some brilliant stuff. I just had to play my part. Ours is a winning combination,” says the star who is looking for a big break in Tamil. “I would love to explore my options in Tamil as well as Malayalam,” he says.
Stylish Star, Bunny...
Arjun has several quirky sobriquets to match his on-screen persona. Hoardings announcing his films flaunt them, too. Mallu Arjun, Stylish Star, Bunny…are some of the most popular. Most of Arjun’s films have been dubbed to Malayalam. Arya, Happy, Desamuduru and Parugu were well received. “It is probably his smartness that makes him so dear to the Malayali audience,” says producer Khader Hassan, whose Redhak Arts has dubbed nine of Arjun’s films to Malayalam. “I watched Arya and I was hooked. I watched the very next show, too. I was amazed by the way he could capture the audience’s attention,” he says. Hassan believed that Arjun’s unique antics would go down well with the Malayali audience and they sure did. “He is not entirely an action hero; he is not only a romantic hero either. It is the lovable prankster image coupled with his talent in dancing that works magic with the Malayali youth,” he adds.
Arjun’s role in Gajapokkiri has shades of a ‘super hero’ material, a slightly different attempt compared to the usual Allu Arjun characters. The film tells the story of two men, who are bitter enemies, played by Allu Arjun and Sonu Sood. The entertaining plot involves action, dance and comedy. Illeana D’Cruz plays Arjun’s love interest.
The 29-year-old actor, who is busy shuttling between locations in and outside the country, says he makes sure he has some time for himself. “There are lots of things to do. Lots of movies to catch. Lots of places to visit…I try to bring in every real life experience into my acting,” he says.

Devi Replaces Chakri in Bunny's next
No wonder Allu Arjun is determined about Devi Sri Prasad
composing for his films, after all, their's is one of the successful
combinations with albums like 'Arya', 'Bunny', 'Arya 2' and 'Julai' striking
right chords.
With Arjun's next 'Iddharamayilatho' with director Puri Jagannadh waiting to go to sets next, Arjun it seems influenced Puri to replace first-choice Chakri with Devi.
Puri was eager to work with his buddy Chakri as it's been a long time since they've collaborated; however, Bunny was keen on having hot and happening Devi on board, chips in a filmi birdie.
'Iddharamayilatho' will be launched on September 20. 'Bunny was excited after listening to the full narration. It is a romantic entertainer where you see him romancing two girls,' said director Puri.
Bandla Ganesh, who ushered in celebrations of 'Gabbar Singh's 100 days recently is producing the flick on Sri Parameshwara Arts banner.

Bunny Revelas Secret behing His Malayalam Market!
Allu Arjun is one telugu hero who has made big
impact in Malayalam box-office. While everyone wonders how this happened, Allu
Arjuns reveals it in his own style when asked about it in an
interview.
He stated “I don’t know the logic. It is just
magic. I didn’t put any efforts at personal level for Malayalam market. It was
opened with Arya and Arya 2 was a big hit in Malayalam. I think they saw a
welcoming contrast in my films compared to what they have been watch in
Malayalam cinema. I also have an under-current women following and a lot of
Muslim following in Kerala. Some people say that I look like a Malayali and I
take it as a compliment.”
Great going Bunny!!
