Whether Telugu star Mahesh Babu or another hero Allu Arjun, sentiments run high in their veins. Almost every celebrity in the film field or sports arena is known to have some sentiments, which they keep dearer to their heart and punctually follow throughout their career.
Whether non-believers appreciate or not, these celebrities stick to their sentiments and those dealing with them should be aware of them before broaching any deal with them.
Mahesh Babu never attends Muhurat of new film productions per se as he belives it is better to keep away from them. While no reason was given, none of his films take off with his presence but he attends all the post-production music launches and media launches of his films.
“I don’t attend Muhurat scenes,” says Mahesh Babu. Otherwise, he visits Ajmeer durgah in Kadapa punctually before the release of every new film of his. Another sentiment for Mahesh Babu was that all his films should be screened in Sudarshan theatre at the RTC X Roads in Hyderabad.
Similar sentiments pervade Allu Arjun whose films necessarily go for shooting in Visakhapatnam (Vizag). All his films — Gangotri, Arya, Bunny, Deshamuduru, Julai among others have been shot in Vizag. Since all his films shot in Vizag were big hits, he keeps his umblical chord with the city alive.
Another hero Gopichand will see to it that his films have titles ending ‘o’ in Telugu. ‘Sahasam’, ‘Laukyam’, ‘Jayam’ and Ranam — are some instances of such titles. His film ‘Golimar’ was not a big hit since it had lacked his sentimental ‘o’, he believes.
Even actresses in Telugu industry tend to follow suit. After the phenomenal success of ‘Magadheera’, heroin Kajal Aggarwal believes that the scene introducing her in the film with white dress was her success secret. All her ensuing films necessarily showed her in white dress in the opening scenes.
Latest heroin Preeti Rakul is virtually scared of the number ‘8’. She never takes up any film or listens to the story on 8th of any month. Her lucky numbers are 1 and 3 and she sticks to arrive at the number totaling the numerological sum of the dates and occasions. Lavanya Tripathi too avoid black dresses and anything that resembles balck.
More than heroes and heroines, directors are the torch-bearers of sentiments in the Telugu Film Industry. They adhere to religious sentiments ardently. Seenu Vaitla visits Simhachalam temple near Visakhapatnam before the release of his new film while Srikanth Addala has to pray at Poshamma temple in West Godavari.
Producers Dil Raju and Bandla Ganesh visit Tirumala before the release of their new film, a tradition known to have started by late Ramanaidu since decades. He used to take the first print of his new film to Tirumala and offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara before releasing the movie.
Whether the celebrities follow sentiments or not, it is interesting to know them, lest those who wish to do their next venture should be aware of it to smoothen the process.
